ARE YOU A FEMINIST?
Many believe that only women are part of the battered women’s movement. This is not just a woman’s issue. Everyone has a part to play in ending men’s violence against women. Everyone has a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, niece, neighbor or friend that they care about and want them to be safe. If you believe like we do that “Feminism is a commitment to the equality, dignity and full humanity of all persons and therefore we commit ourselves to work to bring about structural changes that make that possible” then you too are a feminist.
It is far more than just a word. It is a call to action and commitment to a life philosophy.
The shelter staff, board and volunteers are dedicated to empowering women to start lives free of violence.
Please join us in our efforts to end the violence.
