SERVICES
St. Martha’s Hall offers the following services to abused women 18 years of age and older and their children:
Shelter
We provide safe and confidential shelter with a standard stay of 12 weeks which includes:
- three meals a day,
- individual bedrooms,
- a living room, dining room, kitchen, playroom,
- counseling rooms,
- a fenced backyard,
- personal hygiene items,
- emergency clothing,
- school supplies,
- limited emergency transportation,
- voice mail for residents to receive messages and a post office box to receive mail.
Crisis Intervention
We provide immediate crisis counseling to battered women through our hotline, which operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
Support Groups
Weekly support groups are provided for adults and children. Groups are open to current and former residents. Parenting groups are provided to all current and former adult residents.
Individual Support
Staff interacts with residents on a daily basis. Formal individual sessions are available upon request for both adult and child residents. Individual support is also offered to former residents.
Advocacy Program
Assistance navigating legal, medical, governmental, and community systems is provided.
Information and Referral
Accurate and timely information regarding community resources and how to access them is provided to residents, former residents, the community, and when appropriate to abusers.
Follow-Up
Follow-up contact is attempted with former residents for one full year after departure and longer if requested.
Community Education
Information regarding our agency and topics related to our work are available through community presentation and brochures and information packets are given upon request.
